The capacitor specifications are listed on the gearmotor nameplate. In this example, our model 0670 uses a 15\u00b5F\/350VAC capacitor (p\/n <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bodine-electric.com\/products\/accessories\/capacitor-plastic-box-type-150-mfd-350v-model-49401075\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">49401075<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2999\" src=\"https:\/\/gearmotorblog.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/11\/step-1-how-to-install-a-0984-for-ac-gearmotors.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"Step 1- How to Install a 0984 for AC gearmotors\" width=\"300\" height=\"213\"><\/p>\n<p>Following connection diagram 07410296, <strong>connect the blue wire to one side of the capacitor.<\/strong> The capacitor is not labeled with polarities, so the connection may be made to either wire. PSC motors will not operate properly without the correct run capacitor.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3000\" src=\"https:\/\/gearmotorblog.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/11\/step-2-how-to-install-a-0984-for-ac-gearmotors.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"Step 2- How to Install a 0984 for AC gearmotors\" width=\"300\" height=\"213\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Connect the other side of the capacitor to the black lead from the motor\/gearmotor, and one of the hot leads from the AC motor cord<\/strong> (see wiring diagram). Since the wiring diagram does not specify AC line lead polarities, the connection may be made to either side of the AC line (i.e. hot or neutral).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3001\" src=\"https:\/\/gearmotorblog.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/11\/step-3-how-to-install-a-0984-for-ac-gearmotors.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"Step 3- How to Install a 0984 for AC gearmotors\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\"><\/p>\n<p>Now the capacitor is permanently wired into the winding. This is important because a Permanent Split Capacitor motor uses the capacitor during start and run.
