Each year for the last 19 years, beginning in 2007, Design World magazine has celebrated outstanding manufacturers with their “Leadership in Engineering” awards. Nominees are announced each January and Design World readers are given the opportunity to vote online at any time during the year. There are currently 17 product categories and the winner in each category is the company who garners the most votes from the Design World readers by the end of the year. Design World announced on January 8 that Bodine Electric Company was the 2025 winner in the Motion Control category. This is the first time that Bodine Electric Company has won this award! Winning the award was especially gratifying because the Motion Control category was the most competitive one, having had 32 nominees in 2025.

Paul Heney, VP & Editorial Director for Design World, summed up the essence of the “Leadership in Engineering” awards. “Leadership companies reflect the vision, integrity, and creativity of their engineers by presenting such outstanding products and services. They continue to innovate and provide new solutions for our engineering audience. I think the most noteworthy aspect of this recognition is that (our readers) are able to select the winning companies with the votes (they) cast throughout the year.”
