Brushless DC Parallel Shaft Gearmotors

Bodine Brushless DC parallel shaft gearmotors, also called “inline gear motors,” feature brushless DC (EC) motors. In general, inline planetary or parallel shaft gearmotors have a higher output torque, efficiency, and lower backlash than right-angle worm gearmotors. Brushless DC gear motors require very little maintenance, provide long life, and quiet operation, and produce more output power per frame size than similar sized AC or permanent magnet DC motors and gearmotors. Bodine offers five brushless DC inline or parallel shaft gearmotors (type 60P, D, Z, WX, FX) powered by type 22B and 34B motors. 24VDC and 130VDC windings are available. All Bodine gearhead-motor combinations are designed to work together as one integral unit, minimizing the chance for lubricant leakage or bearing misalignment. The gearmotors reduce the motor speed from as low as .03 rpm to 658 rpm. They also multiply the output torque provided by the motor, with a variety of gear ratios available. The Bodine family of brushless DC inline planetary and parallel shaft gearmotors deliver torque from 5.8 to 350 lb-in (40 Nm). 

Consisting of a brushless DC motor, a gearhead, a motor feedback device (encoder) and a control, our unique INTEGRAmotors combine the major elements of a motion control system in one compact package. 

Gearmotors and motors designed for use in hazardous locations (Class I Division 2) provide extra safety features for use in environments where flammable gases or vapors may be present such as petroleum refineries, chemical distillation facilities, and spray finishing areas. To eliminate the danger of high-voltage arcing and shorts these products feature low-voltage 12V or 24VDC windings and speed controls. 

Brushless DC inline and parallel shaft gearmotors are well suited for applications that require tight speed regulation or where a brush-type motor would generate too much noise and wear out the brushes too quickly. Examples include continuous-duty conveyors, door openers, or rotating retail displays. Low voltage models are ideal for portable or remote applications where connection to an AC line is not possible. They are also suitable for solar or battery powered equipment such as pumps, and automatic gate openers.
